AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - Auburn University officials plan to ask trustees for a tuition hike.
AU officials say a 12 percent increase is needed because the university received about $41 million less from the state in this year's state education budget.
If trustees approve the increase at its meeting today, tuition for in-state students would increase by $333 and rise to $963 for out-of-state students. Students attending Auburn-Montgomery also would be affected.
Last week, trustees of the University of Alabama System approved double-digit increases in tuition for all three campuses this fall.
