Parents had the chance to sign their children up at Brenda's Preparatory School.

The federally funded school has eighteen slots open.

However, filling out an application does not promise enrollment.

“We are going to use the lottery system, pull names, the first 18 and just hope that we can accommodate them in one way or another,” said Brenda Gulford, owner of "Brenda's Preparatory School.

You still have time to sign your child up. However, it is on a first come first serve basis.
