Two city schools will be receiving a grant to fund a new education initiative designed to improve student achievement.

Both Fain and Grandview Elementary schools are sharing a $500,000 grant each year thanks to the Wiregrass Foundation.

The three year grant will help in programs that focus on improving academic, social and behavioral outcomes.

All students will receive guidance through the cooperation of students, faculty, staff, parents and business leaders.

The project will include pre-school and after-school programs.
