ATLANTA (AP) - Emory University's acclaimed cancer center has had to halt enrollment of new patients into clinical trials because of record-keeping problems.

The Emory Cancer Winship Institute stopped enrolling patients on May 15, after an outside audit found key information - such as information about lab results, x-rays and vital signs - were missing or incorrectly recorded.

There were no reports of patients being hurt. An Emory spokesman
says the problems were in research charts and not the medical charts that doctors use to treat patients.

Patients already receiving treatment in about 120 trials were allowed to continue.
