Elsewhere, the up-start Tampa Bay Rays going for a three game sweep over Boston.

The Red Sox strike first. Dustin Pedroia smokes a homer to left, 1-0 Sox.

Back come the Rays, Evan Longoria knocks in a run. Boston had a 5-1 lead in this one, but, the Rays put up a six spot in the seventh to gain control.

The Rays complete the three game sweep with a 7-6 win. Tampa adds another game to their lead in the AL east.
