Alabama quarterback John Parker Wilson
has been named to the preseason watch list for the 72nd Maxwell
Award. He is one of 76 collegiate players named to the list on
Wednesday. The award is given annually to the nation's top college
quarterback.
Wilson, a senior from Hoover, has been UA's starter at
quarterback in each of the last two seasons. He is closing in on
school records for career passing yardage (6,382) and career TD
passes (41).
The winners of the 2008 Maxwell Award will be announced in
December.
