With degrees in English and Speech from Huntingdon College and Auburn University, Ann first became a successful high school English, Speech and Drama Teacher.
This background equipped her for a broadcasting career in which she is recognized as the longest running talk show hostess in Alabama.
As hostess of "The Ann Varnum Show" and Public Affairs Director for WTVY News 4, she has interviewed people from all walks of life, including local and national elected officials, movie and network TV stars, homemakers, farmers and children.
She helped start the Girls' Club in Dothan and the Wiregrass Clearing House, a network of charitable resources and co-founder of Meadowood, a Christ-centered spiritual adventure camp.
Mrs. Varnum is the author of "Sunny Side Up" and with her sister has co-authored two cookbooks, "Field O'Dreams Farm Cookbook" Volumes I and II.
Ann and her husband, Jerome, have three children and six grandchildren.
They attend Faith Fellowship in Dothan and Ann teaches a ladies' Bible Study in her home.
