Name: Chris Harris
Title: Weekend Sports
Email Address: chris@wtvy.com

Chris is the weekend sports anchor for WTVY. He is a native Tennessean and SEC sports junkie. In fact, a panoramic photograph of a Tennessee/Alabama football game at Neyland Stadium hangs above his mantle at home. Needless to say, he’s happy to work in a state where sports are part of the culture.

Prior to coming to Dothan, Chris spent two years as a sports anchor and reporter in Waco, Texas. He covered Baylor, Texas A&M and Texas athletics, the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans, as well as a ridiculous amount of Texas high schools including the theatre that is Texas high school football. During that time he learned that everything is bigger in Texas as long as you don’t mess with it.

Before that he spent a year or so in Columbia, Missouri, as a sports anchor, reporter, producer, news reporter, news producer, and web producer. He knows the drill.

Somewhere in between here and there he managed to work as a chef’s assistant at the best high-dollar restaurant in North Texas-he still smirks about all of the fresh fish delivered via Fed-Ex.

Chris graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and minor in Political Science. When he’s not working, Chris enjoys hanging out at the beach eliminating paleness while he reads philosophy and political biographies, trying to find new ways to prepare decent meals as he narrowly eludes burning down his place, and, of course, competing in some type of sport.
